The annual 2020 JK Board of School Education (BOSE) exams for class 11th students in Kashmir began on December 12 last year.
The exams have now been completed for more than two months, following the cancellation of some remaining subjects. However, there appears to be no progress in the declaration of results, as JKBOSE has made no official announcement about it.
Earlier, the Chairperson of JKBOSE stated that the results would be announced in the first or second week of April.
The class 11th JK Board of School Education (BOSE) annual 2020 exams began for students in their respective schools on December 12, last year.
It may be recalled that following the start of class 11th exams, Board officials were forced to postpone the remaining subjects' exams, which were scheduled for January 3 and 6, due to heavy snowfall in Valley.
The JKBOSE had scheduled Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Sociology, and Food Science for Science, Arts, and Home Science students on January 3. In addition, six vocational subjects were scheduled for examination in January 2006.
However, the J&K government decided on January 22 not to hold the remaining subjects of class 11th students' exams, which had been postponed due to heavy snowfall in the first week of January.
In a letter to the JK BOSE, the additional secretary school education department stated that the marks for the theory and practical components of the postponed subjects will be awarded proportionately.
“The notification to cancel the remaining subjects' exams was sent out late. In addition, external practical exam marks were assigned to students based on their performance in internal practical exams,” an official explained.
More than two months have passed since the government clarified the theory and practical exams for the remaining subjects. However, the JKBOSE has yet to declare the outcome because it is a routine JK Board meeting.
However, the JKBOSE has yet to declare the results. Normally, the JK Board would declare the results of all classes within 40 days, but the result of the class 11th exam has been delayed for unknown reasons.
Despite the delay, all eyes are on the JKBOSE website for the release of the class 11th students' results. An official also told Greater Kashmir that the outcome would be announced in two days.
